When is the next update
« on: December 08, 2004, 04:41:59 am »
I see a lot of fixes here and there in the forums for some bugs ect.
But when is a updated version coming out. I use firefox and alot of the little things in this program just don't work with it... I won't use IE because of the bugs in it and security issues.I also run linux on some of my PC's...
????
Still its a nice program, would be great if all these little fixes were available.. or just a way to download the fixed files....

I have updated the distribution file (v1.77b) to fix the recently mentioned bounce notification, SQL security, and (some) FireFox issues.  I can't release the next update yet, which includes many new fixes and improvements, because it is unfinished and contains database changes.  Please be patient, I'm working on it!

How about a way to clear bounced messages without running the responder on the database ?

Thanks,

Are you talking about simply deleting bounced messages instead of processing them?

This can be accomplished by disabling the feature.  Bounces will be returned to your "Adminstrator Email".  If you don't want to see them at all you could set a bounce (or admin) address that discards email.

If this is not what you mean I will need you to rephrase your question, sorry!

Sorry if I was not very clear about the bounces...
I would like to process the bounced messages without sending the emails .
Example I got lots of emails in the bounced email address . In order to process them from the data base I need to run the daily email batch which also send emails. Some times I don't have any emails going out that day and would like to get rid of the bounces ....

Is their a way to run bounce.php alone, I quess would be the simple question ?

Unfortunately, there is not a way to run the bounce script (dailymail) without sending email.  This *could* be accomplished by cut-and-pasting certain sections of code into a new script, but it's not recommended / supported.

Were you not able to set up bounce.cgi?  bounce.cgi handles bounces on the fly, as they come in.  Another alternative to quickly remove all bouncing users could be (using either method) to set your "Delete users when they bounce X times in X days" to 1 time in any number of days.

If you don't have followups but are simply running scheduled messages, then you can safely run dailymail more than once on days when messages are not scheduled.
