Looping users - only returns to 1st message?
« Reply #1 on: March 23, 2006, 02:41:02 pm »
Hi,

I've played with the demo, it seems that you can setup LOOPING back through the followups, but that it only lets you LOOP back to the first message, is that right?

If it is, you need to re-think this DW, as many people (myself included) need to loop to another message other than the first - usually the first message includes special 'WELCOME to the list' text, and is not something we would want to loop a user back to!

Will you provide a way to LOOP back to the second, or third or any other followup in the next release?
Thanks,
-Brett

Brett,

I brought this up in another post
http://listmailpro.com/forum/index.php?topic=1118.0

I agree totally.  There should be an option to start the user at a "selected" followup instead of just the first. Because in some lists the first few followup messages relate to the fact that the users are "new" or just starting a process etc... and it would be nice if they could start the loop at a different starting point other than just the beginning.

Hopefully this can be done fairly easily...

Don

Yes, I remembered that Don mentioned this but unfortunately didn't get it into v1.86 as I was in a hurry to get it out.  I may have this in the next update.  Until then you can accomplish what you like with this custom script.

I see but I would rather have this built into LMP rather than hack around with scripts, I've got about 30-40 lists and need to have each of them loop back to different places...

When do you expect to work on this feature?  It seems looping to 1st message will not work for very many people at all...

Keep us posted where you are....
Thanks,

I meant to put this one in v1.86 based on Don's suggestion but it slipped my mind.  I'll try to get this and a few more features into ListMail within 0-2 weeks.  I've set a desktop alarm for each day over the next week so it remains at the top of my priority list.

We have had no bug reports in awhile and so v1.86 will be going "stable" in the next day or two.  Look for the next test release (changes, plus a few more features) shortly after that!
