Subscribe Me! Change error / confirm message
« on: June 22, 2006, 04:16:36 am »
Hi Dean

I've looked in the forum but can't find the answer to this one:

When someone presses the 'Subscribe Me' or 'Remove Me' button, how do I change the wording of these messages please ?

Thanks

Nick

I think you're talking about the "Welcome" and "Confirmation" messages sent (if enabled) when users subscribe to your list(s).  You can edit these on the "List Settings" page in the "Welcome & Confirmation" section for each list.  Click "Edit Message" next to the following text:
Quote

Send confirmation email (double opt-in) on signup to verify deliverability
   [ Edit Message ]
Send welcome email on signup or when confirmed
   [ Edit Message ]

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Hi Dean

Thanks for reply, but it is the message immediately after someone presses the subscribe me button  eg enters their email address incorrectly and gets the error message:

There were errors with your subscription to our mailing list.

The error messages are as follows:
The email address you entered is in an incorrect format.

Please press the back button on your browser and re-enter your information.

How do I change this wording please ?

Thanks

Nick

Nick,

You need to modify the "Custom HTML" and "Errors" that are applied to the list being subscribed to.  From the "List Settings" page click "Custom HTML".  Click "Signup Error".

Note that if your list is using the Default HTML set the changes will apply to all other lists using the same.  To customize the page on a per-list basis you need to click "New" in Custom HTML, make your changes and save it, and then go back to List Settings and apply that new set to your list.
